These terms apply to all live and on-demand programmes offered by Dr Mendel Kaelen.
These programmes are developed, owned and taught by Dr Mendel Kaelen ("Mendel", the "Instructor"). They are sold and delivered by Mendel Kaelen, trading as Mendel Kaelen (Therapeutic Music), Lugar Da Boa Vista, Alfambras, 8670-111 Aljezur, Portugal ("we", "us").
Contact: contact@mendelkaelen.me. These terms apply whenever you book a place on, or buy access to, one of our programmes.
These terms apply to every programme we offer, which fall into two types. Where a rule applies to only one type, it says so.
What each programme includes, its dates, price and any time limits on access are set out on its programme page and in your order confirmation. Those details form part of your agreement with us.
Your place is confirmed once payment is received and you get our confirmation email. Prices are shown in euros. At checkout you may see the price converted into your local currency; any conversion fee is shown before you pay.
Places on live programmes are limited and allocated in order of payment.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, with two exceptions set out below.
Live programmes. If the programme starts within your 14 days and you ask us to let you join from the start, we will charge a proportionate amount for the sessions delivered before you cancel. Once the programme has been delivered in full, the right to cancel ends.
On-demand programmes. On-demand content is made available straight away. By ticking the box at checkout, you ask us to give you immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once access is granted. If access has not yet been granted, you can still cancel within 14 days.
To cancel, email contact@mendelkaelen.me with your name and the programme. Refunds are made within 14 days of your cancellation, to the original payment method. If you paid through Klarna or a similar provider, the refund goes to that provider, which updates your repayments. Banks and payment providers may take a further few days to show the refund.
After the 14-day period, fees are not refundable, except where the law requires it (for example, if a programme is not provided as described or with reasonable care and skill). We offer the following instead.
Places are personal and cannot be transferred to someone else without our written agreement.
We may adjust session dates, times or the order of content where needed, and will give you as much notice as we can. If a live session has to be cancelled, we will reschedule it or provide a recording.
If we cancel a programme before it starts, you can choose a full refund or a place on the next cohort. If we have to end a programme part-way through, you will receive a proportionate refund for the sessions not delivered.
We may refuse a booking before a programme starts, in which case you receive a full refund.
Participants must be 18 or over. Our programmes and community are built on peer learning across different disciplines and cultures, so we ask everyone to take part respectfully and lawfully.
Harassment, discrimination, abuse, impersonation, illegal activity or sharing other participants' personal information is not permitted. Your access is for you alone: do not share your login or try to get around access controls.
If these rules are broken, we may remove you from a programme or the community. Where this happens after a programme has started, no refund is due, except where the law requires one.
Live sessions, small groups and listening practices often involve personal reflection. What others share stays within the group. Please do not repeat personal details or case material outside it.
Some live sessions are recorded so participants can review them or catch up. Recordings are shared only with your cohort, and never publicly without the written consent of everyone identifiable in them. If you prefer not to appear, you can turn off your camera, microphone or display name.
You may not record, transcribe or share any part of a session, group discussion or chat yourself. Doing so is a serious breach of these terms.
All programme materials, including videos, slides, workbooks, frameworks, audio and written content, belong to Mendel Kaelen unless stated otherwise. When you join, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning and professional practice.
You are welcome to use and build on what you learn in your own work. Without written permission, you may not:
Nothing here limits your ownership of new, original work you create, including work inspired by what you learn.
Our programmes are educational. They do not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and they do not give you a licence or certification to practise therapy. You remain responsible for working within your professional scope, training and local regulations.
Where programmes discuss psychedelic-assisted or ketamine-assisted therapy, this is for education only. Clinical use requires appropriate qualifications, supervision and legal frameworks. Nothing in our programmes encourages unsupervised or illegal use of any substance.
Taking part in listening exercises and experiential practices is voluntary. Please look after yourself, and pause or step out whenever you need to.
You are responsible for how you apply what you learn, personally, professionally or with clients. We make no promises about particular outcomes or about the suitability of any method for a specific person or setting.
Neither we nor Mendel are liable for loss or harm arising from how you use or apply programme content. Our total liability to you for any programme is limited to the price you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
You will need a stable internet connection, a device that runs Zoom, and good headphones. Some practices involve eyes-closed listening, so a quiet space without interruptions helps.
If you have access needs, tell us at contact@mendelkaelen.me before or after booking. We will make reasonable adjustments where we can, such as captions or transcripts for recordings, or alternatives to audio-based exercises.
Email contact@mendelkaelen.me with any question, cancellation or complaint. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to resolve most matters within 14 days.
If we cannot resolve a complaint together, you may use an alternative dispute resolution service. In Portugal this includes the consumer arbitration centres listed on the Portuguese Consumer Directorate-General's website, and you may also use the official complaints book (Livro de Reclamações) online.
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to you is the one in force when you booked.
